Tummy Time app is now free

Updated October 2026: this post replaces our older “completely free” announcement.

Tummy Time is free to download on iPhone and Android, and there are no ads. Since the first version we’ve added a few extras for parents who want more, as optional Premium. Here’s exactly what’s what.

Free for everyone

  • The high-contrast caterpillar, climbing slowly up the screen
  • The classic black-on-white look
  • The session timer
  • Leaves to place and feed to the caterpillar, and pulling it around the screen
  • No ads, ever, and no sign-up

Premium

Premium is a one-time purchase, with no subscription, and it adds more ways to keep tummy time interesting:

  • Session reports: every session’s length and how many leaves were eaten, with a chart you can export
  • A caterpillar that moves around: it appears in a new spot each time, inviting your baby to look left and right
  • Surprise leaves that pop up at random to catch wandering eyes
  • Camera background: your baby sees themselves behind the caterpillar
  • Black theme: a white caterpillar on black, for a fresh high-contrast look

Any purchase sits behind a parental gate, so little fingers can’t buy anything by accident.

Why not keep everything free?

Building and maintaining an app takes time, and we’d rather ask the parents who want extras for a one-time purchase than fill the app with ads or charge a monthly fee. There is no subscription. The caterpillar itself stays free.
